The Dallas Cowboys remain the most valuable sports franchise in the world, according to Sportico’s latest NFL valuations released this week.
Sportico places the Cowboys’ value at $15.5 billion, a 21% increase from the previous year. It marks the seventh consecutive year the team has ranked No. 1 overall. The Los Angeles Rams sit second at $12.7 billion, followed by the New York Giants at $12 billion.
The Cowboys generate more revenue than any other NFL team, according to the valuation data. Jerry Jones purchased the franchise for $140 million in 1989. The team’s current value reflects decades of growth driven by strong television ratings, stadium revenue, sponsorships, and the overall rise in NFL franchise prices.
Sportico’s ranking includes enterprise value, related businesses, and real estate holdings. Nine NFL teams are now valued at $10 billion or more. The average NFL franchise is worth $9.34 billion, up significantly from the prior year.
Despite the financial dominance, the Cowboys have not won a Super Bowl since the 1995 season and have missed the playoffs in consecutive years. The valuation comes as the team prepares for the 2026 season under Jones’ ownership.
The full Sportico list shows broad growth across the league, with several teams posting double-digit percentage gains. The Cincinnati Bengals rank last among the 32 NFL franchises but still sit among the most valuable sports teams globally.
