A big mess is delaying traffic on Interstate 30 in east Dallas early Wednesday.

Reports say at about 4:00 a.m. a big-rig crashed on the west-bound side of I-30 near Saint Francis. The semi left the freeway near the exit and sheared off a power pole, taking the power lines down with it.

The power lines landed across the lanes in both directions in addition to the service roads.

Because of a diesel spill, a HazMat crew was called in to contain that.

West-bound traffic was backed-up past the I-30/Highway 80 merge while east-bound traffic was backed up nearly to Jim Miller Road.

The delays were expected to last for hours.
