Dallas-based Wingstop is rolling out limited-time chicken wings coated in a sour-then-sweet Sour Patch Kids glaze just in time for Halloween. The Wicked Punch flavor, finished with bits of the candy, hits menus nationwide from October 27 through November 5.
The chain announced the collaboration with Mondelēz International’s Sour Patch Kids brand on October 13. Wicked Punch features a mischievous sour-then-sweet redberry glaze topped with colorful Sour Patch Kids Bitz. The flavor is available across all Wingstop proteins, including bone-in and boneless wings, tenders, and chicken sandwiches. Club Wingstop members can order it starting October 23 through the app or website; it expands to participating U.S. locations for everyone on October 27 and leaves menus after November 5, while supplies last.
“Candy on wings? We know exactly what you’re thinking. But no, seriously, it has no business being this good,” Wingstop President and CEO Michael Skipworth said in the announcement. He added that the flavor brings sour and sweet together in a way only Wingstop can and that one bite is enough to understand why it works.
The limited run is part of Sour Patch Kids’ “13 Days of Mischief” Halloween campaign. The candy brand described the wing collaboration as unexpected mischief that brings both brands together in a surprising, playful way. Wingstop, which was founded in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and has grown into a major global chain with thousands of locations, has used limited-time flavors to drive traffic and attention, especially around seasonal events.
Customers can order Wicked Punch through the Wingstop app, website, or at participating restaurants. Pricing has not been separately announced and may vary by location. The short window gives fans a narrow chance to try the candy-meets-wings crossover before it disappears after Halloween week.
