Dallas firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze early Friday that destroyed 24 condos in a northeast Dallas complex, displacing dozens of residents.

Dallas Fire-Rescue crews responded around 1 a.m. to reports of a fire at a condo building near Audelia Road and LBJ Freeway (635). The first arriving units found flames coming through the roof and quickly called additional alarms, bringing approximately 70 firefighters to the scene.

Crews worked to bring the fire under control, with no injuries reported. The Red Cross is assisting about 45 people who lost their homes in the fire.

Investigators remain on scene determining the cause, which has not yet been released. No fatalities or injuries were reported.

The fire heavily damaged the multi-unit building, leaving some residents without a place to stay. Dallas Fire-Rescue officials have not released additional details on the extent of damage to surrounding structures or estimated financial loss.

This incident comes amid ongoing concerns about fire safety in multi-family housing across North Texas. Local officials often stress the importance of working smoke detectors and clear escape routes in such buildings.

The American Red Cross North Texas Chapter is providing immediate assistance including temporary shelter, food and clothing to those affected. Residents needing help can contact the organization directly.

Dallas Fire-Rescue continues to monitor the scene as cleanup and recovery efforts begin. Updates on the investigation are expected in the coming days.
