The Dallas City Council today is going to discuss a nearly $1 millon system designed to predict which officers might engage in unprofessional behavior.

The computer system aims to give Dasllas Police commanders an early warning if an officer's behavior seems problematic.

As reported by a local newspaper, the company called Benchmark Analytics uses computerized methods to make predictions based on each officer's own reports along with history and complaints.

Outgoing Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall says the department's current system is flawed because it requires a human being to manually go through the files to look for patterns.

However, Dallas Police Association president Mike Mata has some concerns saying such systems are often counter-productive because they can single officers out unjustly.
