The Dallas City Council is reportedly ready to offer Neiman-Marcus more than $5-million in incentives to keep its corporate headquarters in Dallas.
The company has not publicly said anything about moving its headquarters out of Dallas, but it has not promised not to either.
The proposal to be voted on this week would require Neiman Marcus to create at least 300 new jobs in Dallas in the next four years. It would also have to promise to keep at least 1100 jobs in Dallas and make sure at least 35% of headquarters employees are actually Dallas residents.
Also, Neiman Marcus must promise to keep its flagship store in downtown Dallas.
