Disgraced former Dallas city councilman Dwaine Caraway's bribery sentence has been reduced by five months because of his testimony against a man convicted in a City Hall bribery scam.
Caraway was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months for taking bribes in a separate case. But last month, he agreed to testify against Dallas developer Ruel Hamilton who was convicted of bribing not only Caraway but also another Dallas city council member Carolyn Davis, who was killed in a car crash not long after pleading guilty.
In consideration of Caraway's testimony, the judge has removed five months of his 56-month sentence.
