The Dallas County Republican Party is questioning the price tag associated with the new 'School Choice' legislation out of Austin.

The Dallas County GOP is joining other North Texas republicans critical of the measure which was one of the top priorities of Governor Greg Abbott.

Tarrant County GOP Precinct Chair Hollie Plemons has been outspoken against it.

"Here we are having to pay for it and this is not how a consitutional representative-form of government should be working," Plemons said. "We've been sold to donors and donors control our state and control our elected officials."

Plemons is calling on primary voters to elect representatives who will kill the program two years from now.

"We need to have people that are strong and have their own mind and their own backbone, they are not owned by somebody, to say 'no.' We are not going to vote to continue funding this program," Plemons said.

The Dallas County Republican Party said in a statement Wednesday that regardless of where you stand there are fair questions that are lacking in good answers.

This was a top priority for Governor Greg Abbott who called it a remarkable achievement for educators, students, and parents.
