
We are getting a better idea of what may come of some Diversity Equity and Inclusion, or DEI, programs that face cuts in Dallas.
The city could lose $300-million in federal funding if city programs are not in compliance with Trump administration policies.
City Councilwoman Paula Blackmon says they can still get to the same objectives if they frame the wording differently.
"I think we can still get there because it's still a mindset of how am I going to approve a budget that is building up the southern part of our city just like our northern part," Blackmon said.
The City Manager paused programs that were not in compliance following a resolution passed by the City Council.
Blackmon cautioned that the city has not eliminated anything.
"There was no elimination of programs, we did not take a vote on anything on a briefing day on anything that had to do with programs," she said.
This week, several faith leaders across Dallas spoke out in alarming concern about the future of certain programs that have been paused.
