Dallas ISD police are investigating after two middle school students were struck Tuesday morning at Glasgow Drive and Abrams Road in Old East Dallas.
According to Dallas ISD, the students were on their way to school when they were hit in a possible hit-and-run. District police told FOX 4 both students are OK. The district has not released their names or identified a suspect vehicle.
WFAA reported sources said the students are sixth-graders and that a vehicle struck them while they were crossing, then left the scene. A Dallas ISD officer at the intersection told a resident the children would be all right. It is not clear whether they were walking, on bikes or on scooters.
The crash renewed complaints about speeding on Abrams Road. WFAA said neighbors have asked the city for traffic-calming, safer crosswalks and bike lanes after earlier wrecks, including vehicles that hit homes in 2023 and 2025. Residents said they met with city officials last summer and again in June but have seen little change on the street.
Several Dallas ISD campuses sit near the intersection, including elementary, middle and high schools. Police have asked anyone with video or photos of the vehicle to contact Dallas ISD Police.
No arrests have been announced. The investigation remains open.
