Dallas Love Field officials are preparing for a record number of passengers over the Thanksgiving holiday and they're urging passengers to arrive a little earlier than usual to avoid any problems.
Love Field already calls itself the "busiest medium-hub airport in the country," Now, it's gearing up for the busiest Thanksgiving ever.
Airport officials estimate over half a million passengers are expected to pass through Love Field over the next 12 days. That's a 15 to 20% increase from last year.
Airport officials are asking passengers to check parking capacity online before arriving and consider other ways to get to the airport so they don't have to park at all. Also, they suggest arriving extra early.
The worst days for traveling: Saturday, November 18, and the three days before and the three days after Thanksgiving. But not Thanksgiving Day. So if you can fly in the morning and make it to Gramma's in time for dinner, that might be a good option.
