Dallas Market Hall, a longtime venue for trade shows, expos and public gatherings, is holding its last scheduled event this weekend as its owner evaluates redevelopment options that could include converting the site into part of a large urban data center campus.
The 66-year-old building along the Stemmons Corridor has stopped taking new bookings. Dallas Market Center officials confirmed they halted future reservations months ago while Crow Holdings, the property’s owner, reviews strategic options for the site. No official closing date has been announced, and Crow Holdings has not confirmed whether the hall will be demolished or repurposed.
Crow Holdings announced plans earlier this year for a 245-megawatt, multi-building data center campus on roughly 40 acres in the same area. The first phase, expected to deliver about 70 megawatts, is targeted for late 2027 in partnership with CleanArc Data Centers. City zoning records show the project footprint could extend onto the parcels where Market Hall currently stands.
Opened in 1960, Market Hall was once promoted as the world’s largest privately owned exhibition hall. It has hosted trade shows, consumer expos, concerts, political events and other public gatherings for more than six decades. Wholesale market activity previously held there has already been shifted to other Dallas Market Center buildings.
Crow Holdings and CleanArc have declined to provide additional details about Market Hall’s specific future. Local officials and market representatives have described the wind-down of events as part of a broader evaluation of the property’s long-term use in a rapidly changing Stemmons Corridor.
The final event this weekend marks the end of regular public programming at a venue that has been a fixture of Dallas commercial and community life since the early days of the Market Center complex.
