Dallas sports leaders are celebrating Monday, after Big D was named the No. 1 city in the U.S. to do business in sports by the Sports Business Journal.
The ranking is due to research and insights from SBJ Atlas – using half a million data points and extensive feedback from 100 high-ranking sports industry executives.
"It's a testament to all the work that everyone has put in," says Monica Paul, executive director of the Dallas Sports Commission. "Whether it's our facilities, leagues, owners, agencies or conferences who live or work in the DFW area."
SBJ's algorithm assigned scores based upon data and research in three primary areas: opportunity, environment and insight. Dallas ranked in the top five of all three areas.
After Dallas, New York City, Charlotte, Minneapolis and Atlanta rounded out the top five. Austin was ranked 23rd, while Houston came in at 29th.
