Dallas Police have charged a woman for the wrong-way crash that killed a Dallas Police officer Tuesday night.

Dallas Police say 31-year-old Mayra Rebollar has been charged with Intoxication Manslaughter for her role in the fatal crash on Spur 408 late Tuesday night that claimed the life of Officer Jacob Arellano, a Dallas police officer who was heading in to start his shift.

Police say Rebollar is still hospitalized and has not been arraigned on the charge. There is no word yet on her condition.

Dallas Police say Officer Arellano was driving in the middle of the three lanes when a sedan going southbound in the northbound lanes hit the off-duty officer’s vehicle head-on.

The crash caused the officer’s vehicle to go into the right lane where it was hit by a tractor-trailer. The officer’s vehicle rolled several times and stopped on the right shoulder of Spur 408.

Officer Arellano, 25, has been a member of the Dallas Police Department since June of 2019. He was assigned to Northwest Patrol Division, 1st watch. Funeral arrangements are pending. Officer Arellano is survived by his parents, girlfriend, and infant child. Officer Arellano is also survived by his brother, also a Dallas Police Officer.
