A house fire on the northeast side of Dallas killed a woman and her dog early Tuesday morning.

It was just after 6:00 a.m. that officials say that flames were seen shooting from a house in the 2500 block of Jonesboro, near Oates and Shiloh.

Jason Evans of Dallas Fire Rescue says when firefighters arrived they saw flames coming out the front of the house and through the living room window.

The woman and her dog were later found dead inside the home. Evans says they believe the fire started in the living room, although they are not sure of the cause.

The name of the victim has not been released.
