The Dallas Zoo says cases of Avian Flu are on the rise, so they're not taking any chances when it comes to their birds.
A Facebook post by the zoo states that cases have been confirmed within 100 miles of Dallas zoo, meaning many of its birds will stay behind the scenes until the threat has passed.
That includes African penguins and flamingos.
Also, the Forest Aviary and Birds Landing will be closed for the time being.
Thankfully, the public need not worry, as the zoo stated that: "Human infection with avian influenza viruses are very rare, and no cases of human infection with the current strain in the United States have been reported."
