After nearly a week of shuttle buses and service detours, DART is restoring full rail service through downtown Dallas this Monday morning - six days after a train fire disrupted operations in the tunnel near Pearl/Arts District Station.

On July 30, a train caught fire while passing through the Central Business District, forcing the evacuation of roughly 40 people and resulting in six minor hospitalizations.

Power throughout the CBD was shut off as crews worked to stabilize the area and assess electrical damage.

In the interim, DART operated with train shuttles and bus bridges connecting key stations like Victory, EBJ/Union, Pearl/Arts District, Deep Ellum, Cityplace/Uptown, and SMU/Mockingbird - while staff were dispatched across major transfer points to guide riders through the system.

With repairs complete and the National Transportation Safety Board investigating the incident, DART says it thanks riders for their patience and expects that normal train operations will continue uninterrupted starting Monday.

What Riders Need to Know

Normal Red, Blue, Orange, and Green Line service resumes through the CBD.

No more shuttle or bus bridge transfers required for most routes; regular schedules are back in effect.

DART reminds passengers: Sign up for service alerts to stay updated, and be courteous to staff taking longer shifts during recovery efforts.

Stay tuned to KRLD.com and our social channels for any updates as the NTSB completes its review of the incident.
