DART announced plans to increase train frequency, expand passenger capacity, and launch a dedicated shuttle service to accommodate visitors traveling to the State Fair of Texas this fall.
To handle higher rider volume heading to Fair Park, the transit agency will add extra cars to existing trains and increase overall train frequency on routes serving the fairgrounds.
In addition to increased rail operations, DART is introducing the "State Fair Flyer," a temporary shuttle bus service running on weekends. The shuttles will transport passengers directly from select DART transit stations to Lot 8 at Fair Park.
Agency leaders highlighted the expanded transit options as a convenient alternative to navigating crowded streets around the fairgrounds.
The State Fair of Texas opens Sept. 25. Riders can view complete schedule updates and plan their trip on the DART website.
