Demi Lovato, who was raised in Dallas as the daughter of a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader and got her start as a child performer on Barney & Friends, returns home this Friday for a concert at the American Airlines Center.
The pop star is scheduled to perform at 8 p.m. on May 22 as part of her It's Not That Deep Tour, with doors opening earlier. Special guest ADÉLA will open the show. Lovato was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but spent much of her childhood in North Texas, where she appeared alongside Selena Gomez on the popular children’s television series Barney & Friends filmed in Dallas.
Her mother, Dianna De La Garza, was a longtime Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, further cementing the family’s deep local roots. Lovato has often spoken fondly of her Dallas upbringing and frequently returns to the city for performances and personal visits.
The upcoming show marks a hometown stop on her North American tour, which supports her latest music and artistic evolution. Tickets remain available through the American Airlines Center box office and Ticketmaster.
Located at 2500 Victory Avenue, the American Airlines Center is one of North Texas’ premier venues and home to the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars. The concert is expected to draw a large crowd of longtime local fans eager to see one of their own on stage.
