From North Texas to Austin, the official state capital Christmas Tree has now been delivered, completing its 270 mile trip yesterday.
Texas State Park Rangers unloaded the big Virginia Pine and began standing her up for the Christmas season.
From Eisenhower State Park in Denison, Park Interpreter Elizabeth Booth says the tree was grown at a Christmas Tree farm in Denison. The tree is named "Mamie Two" because she's the second State Capital Christmas Tree named in memory of the late First Lady Mamie Eisenhower whose husband, the General and President, was born in Denison in 1890.
