Denton public libraries and recreation centers shut down at 5:00pm on Wednesday, December 29th. They are scheduled to re-open on January 6th. Those facilities could be used as warming centers if necessary before then, but they would not be able to provide their normal services.

The city-run animal shelter in Denton has been closed since Monday because too many staffers had COVID-19. The animal shelter is scheduled to re-open on January 5th. Some staffers are still at the shelter to respond to emergency calls such as rabid or vicious animals.

City officials could re-evaluate the situation with all of those facilities next week and adjust their plans accordingly.
