A Denton County grand jury has no-billed a Denton police officer who shot and killed a UNT student last year.
Police reports said Darius Tarver charged officers with a meat cleaver and a frying pan. A Tazer shock caused him to drop the pan but an officer was cut on the shoulder with the cleaver.
Another officer shot Tarver but he got back up and continued to advance with the cleaver.
Tarver was shot twice more and died at the hospital.
After reviewing the evidence, including body cam video, the grand jury declined to indict.
