Officials at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport say they are prepared for a surge in travelers starting Thursday. They expect 4.8 million people to pass through the airport between now and March 24.

That would be a 2.4% increase from the same Spring Break travel period last year and a new record for the airport.

They're asking travelers to arrive two hours early for their domestic flights and to build time into their schedules for some of the delays that can accompany heavy traffic and construction at the airport. There's work ongoing on International Parkway and at Terminal C that could affect travel times.

They also suggest taking DART or the TRE to eliminate any parking hassles. Travelers who do choose to park at the airport need to know that DFW International Airport recently adopted a new policy on paying for parking. The airport no longer takes cash. Customers can use credit cards, debit cards, toll tags, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
