The Winter Olympics always brings out the curious fans for one of the sports that is growing in popularity across the country.

That means the DFW Curling Club will be opening their doors in Irving to those who want to learn to curl.

Brigitte Manucci is the Club's president.

"People don't realize how fun it is until they try it and once they do it's like, 'I can't wait to start,'" Manucci said. "We're going to have so much opportunity to have beginner's leagues and stuff like that so we're super excited."

The DFW Curling Club has curlers of all ages ranging from eight to 80.

The club has existed for nearly 25 years and has become so successful that they will soon open a new facility in Irving.

"We actually hold what we call 'Learn to Curl' events. We start February 19th all the way through the end of March," Manucci said. "If you go to our website, dfwcurling.com, you'll see all the available times."

The DFW Curling Club currently operates out of the Children's Health StarCenter Valley Ranch in Irving but will soon move into their new facility.
