Plano-based Dr Pepper is joining the flaming hot craze, introducing a new flavor on a limited basis called Dr Pepper Hot Take.
It's billed as a spicy variety of the Dr Pepper Texans grew up on. A few people who've tried it are saying on social media that the extra heat doesn't hit you all at once -- but you tend to feel it at the back of your throat as you keep sipping.
When they say "limited basis," they really mean it. You won't find it on store shelves. It's available only to members of Pepper Perks, the Dr Pepper rewards program. If you're not a member, the only way you can try the Hot Take is to become one.
