Almost all of Texas remains under drought conditions -- and, of course, that's bad for our lake levels.

All but about 10 percent of Texas ranges from abnormally dry to exceptional drought. And nearly the worst of it is in the Big Country and West Texas.

A streak of counties under Extreme Drought ranges from Eastland County west to the New Mexico line. And the lakes are feeling it.

Lake Fort Phantom, a few miles north of Abilene, is only 68 percent full and remains more than six feet below its spillway.

And its even worse at Lake Abilene at Abilene State Park -- only 41% capacity and nearly ten feet below the spillway.

But get this -- Lake Spence, about an hour south of Sweetwater -- is at only 19% capacity.
