Friday's strong earthquake near Midland has been upgraded from a 5.3 to a 5.4 magnitude.

It doesn't sound like much, but it's nearly one-and-a-half times stronger.

The earthquake was felt as far away as Lubbock, Abilene and San Angelo.

At 5.4, this is the fourth strongest temblor ever in West Texas.

It's also at least the second quake of magnitude of 5.0 or greater in West Texas in the past month.

On November 16th, there was a 5.3 near Pecos.
