Law enforcement officials say human remains were uncovered at the former home of 6-year-old Noel Rodriguez Alvarez during an intensive search by the FBI and local law enforcement this week. Officials said they would wait for the Tarrant County Medical Examiner to identify the remains.
Investigators from the FBI, Everman Police Department, Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office and Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office spent several days excavating the backyard of the house in the 3700 block of Wisteria Drive in Everman.
Crews began digging Monday and continued through Wednesday using heavy equipment and sifting dirt under large canopies.
Noel Rodriguez Alvarez was last seen in 2022 and has been missing for more than three years. He has been presumed dead since April 2023, when an earlier search of the same home turned up indications of human remains, though none were recovered at that time. The case shifted to a death investigation, and Noel’s mother, Cindy Rodriguez Singh, faces capital murder charges in connection with his disappearance. She was arrested in India and extradited to Texas but was later ruled incompetent to stand trial and is receiving mental-health treatment.
Officials have described the current search as the next step in the long-running investigation and say no new tips prompted the activity. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office is now testing the evidence recovered from the yard. Everman Police Chief Al Brooks and the district attorney’s office have said the search continues as authorities work to seek justice for Noel.
The renewed activity has drawn attention from neighbors who have followed the case closely for years. No injuries or safety issues were reported during the search.
