There was an incident Saturday evening at DFW Airport after an American Airlines passenger jet overran the runway while landing.

The FAA reports the incident with American Airlines flight 1632 was due to a braking malfunction. American Airlines says in a statement that there were no reported injuries among the 99 passengers and six crew members on board.

The Boeing 737-800 had departed from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C. Upon landing at DFW, it experienced a braking issue that sent the aircraft past the runway's end.

The aircraft stopped in an area of the Engineered Materials Arresting System (EMAS), which contains materials of crushed gravel that are designed to prevent runway overshoots.

Nobody was injured and those on the plane were bussed to the terminal.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
