A Fort Worth family wants answers after their loved one was found dead in the street after a brutal assault.
50-year-old Susan Watkins had been living on the street and 47-year-old Steven Black was arrested for her murder.
Her body was found in the 900 block of South Jennings last week. She later died.
Watkins' mother says her daughter was someone who wanted to help other people. She spoke to NBC5.
"She's always worried about other people. Getting on bullies. Wouldn't let bullies bully other kids," she told NBC5.
Police say Black was on parole at the time.
The family says toxicology showed there were drugs in her system at the time of her death.
