We're learning new details on what led up to a deadly shooting in far north Fort Worth earlier this week.

Kenneth Johnson, 19, was shot to death early Monday afternoon on Ranch Hand Trail, near Hwy. 287 and Harmon Rd., over a dispute over a gaming system.

Officer Jimmy Pollozani says after the shooter gave Johnson $700 for the gaming system and games, the shooter noticed something was off.

"The suspect noted that the gaming system inside the backpack was different than what they had previously spoken about," says Pollozani. "The victim then started to run away with the suspect's money.

"The suspect stated that he told the victim to stop," Pollozani continued. "(He) pulled this handgun out and fired two shots in the ground. The victim did not stop, and the suspect fired multiple additional shots toward the victim, striking him at least one time."

Johnson, who lived in the neighborhood where the shooting happened, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooter was detained for questioning immediately following the shooting and was released.

But now that he's a suspect, a warrant is out for his arrest.
