Two people are facing federal drug charges after federal agents executed a search warrant at a home in southeast Dallas.
Law enforcement officers found large amounts of illegal drugs and more than a million dollars in cash inside the residence.
Investigators had received a tip that the home on South Acres Drive was being used as part of a drug operation. ATF agents, Dallas Police and investigators with the Texas Department of Public Safety conducted a string of undercover drug buys at the home. They raided the property on July 13th.
Agents arrested 47-year-old Hector Manuel Castro-Quirino and 38-year-old Vanesa Ann Cervantes. They're both charged with drug conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute.
A search of the home turned up 14 firearms, more than kilogram of cocaine, half a kilogram of methamphetamine and nearly $1.6 million in cash.
"Far too often, gun and drugs are a lethal combination. We are thankful to the tenacious agents who took these dangerous items, and their owners, off our streets," said Acting U.S. Attorney Prerak Shah.
