Another wildfire has broken out in North Texas -- this one in Wise County.
The Sweetwater Creek Fire broke out Wednesday morning in an area near County Road 4010 southeast of Decatur.
"We're currently estimating it at 120 acres and 0% contained," says Adam Turner with the Texas A&M Forest Service.
Around five homes are threatened, but there are no evacuation orders in effect at this time.
"We had a couple aviation resources on it dropping water," Turner says, "and now crews are going to work to build containment lines around the outside of it."
While the cause is unknown, the brutally hot, dry conditions aren't helping matters.
"All of our fuels and grass and brush are all pretty darn dry," says Turner. "It makes fire more likely to spread rapidly if fires do start, and then hot temperatures always cause problems with firefighters working to suppress fires."
A burn ban is currently in effect in Wise County.
