The Dallas Zoo says it has some "big cat news" but the cat in question is really very tiny. For now, anyway.
For the first time since 1948, the Dallas Zoo has had a baby tiger born on-site. She's named Sumini in honor of the woman who leads a group of rangers who protect Sumatran tigers in Indonesia.
The Zoo has great hopes for Sumini who carries genetics important to the survival of her species which has only a few hundred tigers living in the wild.
Sumini is being bottle fed right now because her mother was not producing enough milk to keep the little one going.
