A rare albino Western Diamondback rattlesnake has been captured in the Texas Hill Country.
The Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife says a rancher found the snake in Mason County, about halfway between Austin and San Angelo.
As an albino, the rattler is devoid of color except its red eyes. It still has its characteristic diamond-shaped markings along its back.
It may be a young one since it's only about ten or twelve inches long. Adult Diamondback can grow to anywhere from 30 to 72 inches.
The rancher who caught it says he might just release it back into the wild.
