A former Oklahoma football standout has been found dead in Downtown Dallas.

25-year-old Du’Vonta Lampkin was found shot to death at an Airbnb in downtown Dallas. Two people who rented the place for Lampkin said he had planned to stay there for the week until he moved into a new place. When he wasn't answering his phone they went to check on him and found him dead.

Police said Lampkin's black and white designer backpack, cell phone, and wallet were missing at the scene.

Lampkin played defensive tackle for OU from 2015 through 2018. He signed with the Tennessee Titans for just over a month before being waived. Lampkin played high school football in the Houston area.
