A former Plano police detective has been sentenced to more than a decade in federal prison for his role in running a dangerous drug ring.

Federal Judge Sean Jordan of Plano sentenced 48-year old Frank Dockery to nearly 11-years in prison for helping run an oxycodone drug ring while he was a law enforcement officer.

Dockery is a former Plano Police detective, a SWAT officer, and a firearms instructor.

Last year Jordan was caught when his gang peddled drugs to a Fairview man who overdosed and died. It was learned that the gang had been operating for about 4 years.

Dockery admitted in court that he used his police gun to protect other gang members. P

lano police chief Ed Drain declined comment saying only, "it is not our case and he is no longer our employee."
