Murdered Fort Hood Specialist Vanessa Guillen will get a memorial gate at the post. She was 20 when she was killed.

Guillen's family and attorney went to Fort Hood to discuss the design.  Her sister says "this memorial that will be done in order to honor Vanessa means a lot to us.  It means they listened this new command listened to us.  Attorney Natalie Khawam says "they're going to create a parking lot, and they're going to create it where you don't need to check into visitor parking like you have to do and give your ID.  It is going to be available for not  just the guys and girls on base but also visitors. They want everyone to be able to go and see it and visit it and pay their respects."

The gate will bear Guillen's name and photo.  It will have a dedication plaque and information about her.  Right now the site is just a plot of land.

Guillen went missing in April and her remains were found along the Leon River June 30th. A suspect, a fellow soldier committed suicide.

Guillen's family say she told them she had been sexually harassed, but didn't tell anyone at fort hood for fear of retaliation.  The "I Am Vanessa Guillen" bill was introduced in congress in September.
