Three people and two dogs were treated at the scene of a Fort Worth apartment fire on Wednesday, and officials say they all seem to be okay.
Firefighters got a call to the Xander Apartments on Ridgmar near I-30 in west Fort Worth. They immediately saw heavy smoke pouring from a ground floor unit and realized the fire was spreading upstairs.
Officials say fire crews quickly got inside the building and knocked the flames down, containing the fire damage to just that one unit. However, four other units have some damage from smoke and water.
Three residents were treated at the scene but did not need to go to the hospital. Firefighters also carried out a couple of frightened dogs but they, too, checked out okay.
One firefighter went to the hospital for what commander called "observation."
