The Fort Worth city council is mulling over a $31 million proposal to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety in the city's Historic Stockyards District.
A consultant has presented an infrastructure study that includes recommendations for 22 projects across ten corridors and 17 intersections in the district.
Reports say street parking along North Main Street would be mostly eliminated to create room for a center turn lane.
Ellis Avenue would also be cut from two lanes to one lane in each direction, also to make room for a center turn lane.
Re-striping and reconfiguring North Main Street could be finished in about a year, but other elements of the plan would take longer.
