A Fort Worth man has been sentenced to 40 years in federal prison after authorities seized more than 244 kilograms of methamphetamine and other drugs tied to a large-scale trafficking operation, federal prosecutors said.
According to court records, Evaristo Hidrogo was convicted of possessing with intent to distribute controlled substances. Investigators said authorities recovered more than 244 kilograms of methamphetamine with a reported purity of 100%, along with heroin, cocaine and three firearms.
The case began on Nov. 18, 2025, when Hidrogo led law enforcement on a high-speed chase before crashing into another vehicle. Prosecutors said he continued fleeing before he was eventually arrested.
Officers found 56 grams of methamphetamine on Hidrogo and another 823 grams of methamphetamine, 301 grams of heroin, 55 grams of cocaine and two firearms inside his vehicle.
The investigation later led officers to a Fort Worth storage facility, where they seized 244 kilograms of methamphetamine, and a residence where they recovered about 10 kilograms of methamphetamine, two kilograms of heroin and another firearm, according to prosecutors.
Hidrogo was sentenced to 40 years in federal prison.
“This lengthy prison sentence serves as a warning to anyone distributing narcotics in the Northern District of Texas,” said U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould. “We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to identify and prosecute drug traffickers, as we remain committed to make the communities in which we live safer.”
The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Fort Worth District Office, with assistance from the Tarrant County Sherrif’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua Garland prosecuted the case.
