He is a carjacker, a kidnapper, and now a federal inmate - a Fort Worth man is going to federal prison for decades.

The way court papers frame it, 36-year-old Anthony Scott Gordon was walking danger. He has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for two carjackings, two more kidnappings, and the use of deadly weapons during all four crimes.

In August 2020, Gordon stole a truck from a woman who was parked along I-20 in Fort Worth, firing a gun into the ground to get her attention.

Four days later, Gordon showed up in Richardson, where he went into a business and stole an employee's car at gunpoint.

A few days later, Gordon was at the home of a woman whom he kidnapped at gunpoint. Gordon drove off with the woman screaming in the back seat, but she managed to flee when Gordon stopped at a motel.

His final criminal act happened about a week later when Gordon was spotted at a drug deal. He took off on foot with police in pursuit. Gordon ended up in the home of another victim and tried to use a gun to hold her hostage. She escaped and Gordon was busted.

Gordon was indicted in November 2020 and pleaded guilty in September 2022. He was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge Sam A. Lindsay.

The Fort Worth Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Dallas Field Office, and the Dallas Police Department conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Joseph Lo Galbo and Melanie Smith (fmr.) prosecuted the case.
