Fort Worth man sentenced to life for ordering the contract killing of his father

A Fort Worth man is going to prison for life for ordering a hit on his own father last year.

Last week, Braylin Brown Junior was convicted of murder in the contract killing of his father, Braylin Brown Senior. Yesterday, he was given a life sentence by the same jury.

Fort Worth police believe the Brown has strong gang connections but it looks like that had nothing to do with the killing. Rather, prosecutors made their case that the father and son were in a relationship with the same woman, and that was the reason for the murder.

The suspect accused of being the trigger man, Damon Cotton, remains in the Tarrant County jail awaiting trial.
