Days after murder charges were dropped against a Black man named Markynn West, Fort Worth Black community leaders are demanding a civil rights investigation into his arrest.
West was originally arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of Chin "Jin" Shin, a community leader in the Dallas Asian community.
But this week, prosecutors dropped the charge because they said video evidence showed West acted in self-defense.
Fort Worth pastor Kyev Tatum -- president of the Ministers Justice Coalition of Texas -- says "the Fort Worth Police Department owes these young people apologies and a roadmap to regaining their lives they lost because of the racist lies of these officers."
