A Fort Worth police officer has been fired nearly six months after an incident at a tavern where Jose Salazar was working an off-duty security gig.
Fort Worth Police Commanders say Salazar lied in his reports about his use of force that night last July when a bar patron got into a fight with the staff.
During his arrest of the customer, internal investigators say Salazar used too much force and then downplayed that in his report. But the investigators had access to security video showing what happened and they say Salazar's report was not consistent with what they saw.
