Shoppers and employees were evacuated briefly from Hulen Mall in Fort Worth on Tuesday after a pursuit ended at the mall, police say.

Police said at around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, they got word of a shooting at an apartment complex off Vermillion Drive. When they arrived, they found no victim but did find a crime scene.

A short time later, police said they were notified that a tow truck driver had made his way to a storage company with what's described as a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Police said the suspects in the shooting were later spotted, and officers gave chase. The short pursuit ended at Hulen Mall.

Three suspects were taken into custody and two others took off running. Mall patrons and employees were rapidly evacuated and police conducted a safety sweep of the mall.

The two suspects were not located on the mall property and were still at large Tuesday.

The mall reopened at about 1:35 p.m.
