Google announced Friday it will invest $40 billion in Texas to expand cloud, artificial intelligence and energy infrastructure, including new data centers in Armstrong and Haskell counties.
The funding also supports existing campuses in Midlothian and Dallas. The investment is the largest Google has made in any U.S. state.
“This is a Texas-sized investment in the future of our great state,” Gov. Greg Abbott said, citing energy efficiency and workforce development.
U.S. Sen. John Cornyn called it a sign of Texas’ growing role as a technology hub.
Google said the expansion strengthens its global network of 42 cloud regions that help businesses build and scale AI-powered solutions.
