
Grapevine's 41st annual Main Street Fest has begun. The festival runs through Sunday in Downtown Grapevine.
Local businesses have set up tents in the middle of Main Street selling food, jewelry and clothing. A carnival is also taking place and live music is scheduled through the weekend.
Craft breweries have scheduled tastings. Restaurants and bars are open, and a carnival runs through the weekend. The event also includes a "KidZone."
Main Street Fest also includes live music. Friday night, Colton Rice opens for Neal McCoy.
"We just enjoy walking around and seeing all the different crafts," one man said Friday aftenroon.
Another says, as the Metroplex grows in population, he is glad to see festivals like this that still make the area feel smaller.
"It's just a great town, very civic-minded," he says. "These are always a lot of fun."
The National Weather Service says scattered severe storms are possible Friday afternoon, and the severe threat increases Saturday. Visitors say they have back-up plans in case of storms.
"We've got our hats on. We're ready to go," one woman says.
"We go to Harvest Hall. We really enjoy that. That's always a back-up plan," a man visiting with his wife says.
