The cause of a Collin County grass fire is still unclear as fire crews keep an eye out for flare-ups.
The fire in a semi-rural area of Lucas burned a barn to the ground as winds gusting up to 25 miles-an-hour bedeviled firefighters trying to douse the flames with help from neighbors using their own hoses and even five-gallon buckets of water carried from a swimming pool.
But once the flames reached the barn, it went up very fast. Firefighters were able to protect two homes on either side of the burning barn.
