The Grayson County city of Gunter is asking its people to cut back on water usage.
A notice sent out last night says "due to excessive water consumption, the city's water storage tanks are unable to refill. Consequently, the city will be without water by early morning."
This means the city is asking all residents to cease all outdoor watering until further notice" and to minimize or eliminate water using functions such as dishwashers, washing machines, use of showers and sink water and any other non-essential water usage.
A week ago, Gunter issued mandatory water use restrictions because repairs to a water well pump remained broken even after four months, apparently because parts and service issues prevented getting the pump motor repaired.
On Sunday, the city announced that two of its three water wells were out of commission.
